I am glad to have optimized the loading time of my client's Wordpress ecommerce site from 11.6 to 4.1 seconds according to Webpagetest even though the website is hosted on a shared hosting company that does not support compression. Pingdom reports loading time of 1.49 seconds (used to load in 10.56 seconds).
