About
Book design for 'Historia Abreviada de la Literatura Portátil' (A Brief History of Portable Literature), by Spanish author Enrique Vila-Matas. The book proposal goes beyond the regular proposal of books. We worked with the concept of construction: among the story, the characters are being build one by one and new ones appear; illustrations of these characters are interspersed throughout the text, as they appear in the story for the first time.

The cover sleeve can be taken out to reveal the book cover.
The cover sleeve is also a poster. In one side contains the map featuring the path of the characters' travel and on the other side all the character and character's constructions.

The interior design is a mixed of formal typography and brush calligraphy that highlights the characters' voices.
